Katherine Chamberlain is a partner at MacDonald Hoague & Bayless (www.mhb.com). She received her B.A. from the University of California at Davis, summa cum laude, in 2001. She graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2004, where she was an editor of the law review and a moot court competitor. Katie started her career as an employment law attorney with Walters Chanti & Zennaché P.C. in Eugene, Oregon. In 2007, she moved to Seattle and joined MHB, where her practice focuses on plaintiff’s employment litigation, with an emphasis on gender and pregnancy discrimination, medical and maternity leave, and disability accommodations. She has tried cases in state and federal court. Katie has been named a Washington “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers Magazine and is a recipient of the Oregon State Bar New Member Service Award. She is on the Board of Directors of Legal Voice. Katie is a member of the planning committee for the King County Bar Association’s Pacific Coast Labor & Employment Law Conference. She is also an active member of the Washington Employment Lawyers Association’s Legislative Committee, and was involved in efforts to pass the 2017 Healthy Starts Act, which requires employers to provide workplace accommodations to pregnant workers as needed. Katie has contributed to several publications on the topics of various employment rights, including pregnancy accommodations, discrimination, family leave, and sexual harassment.
