DEBORAH P. CRAWLEY, Executive Director, Brain Injury Association of Washington
Deborah has spent 25 years in non-profit work and management in Seattle. An Economics graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she began her career at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and then spent 17 years working with the leading developer of youth prevention education, including development of the first CDC Program that Work in HIV/AIDS Prevention and two Model Programs for Safe & Drug Free Schools. She came to the Brain Injury Association in January, 2009 after 4 years at the Millionaire Club Charity as their Director of Communication & Development.
She has utilized her diverse skill set to support the measurable growth of the Brain Injury Association of Washington in the past three years. Not only has she been a leader in establishing fiscal solvency, she also developed and implemented the administrative overlay which has grown the agency from a staff of 2 to 14, allowing the expansion of services both in quality and quantity. She has also worked closely with the Board of Directors to elevate our national reputation to where the BIAWA is now considered one of the top state associations in the country and the go-to organization in this state. As BIAWA looks towards the future, we have the foundation necessary to support the provision of an even greater number of quality services to those we serve in support of the mission and vision of this organization.
