1 Title by Dr. Erving Severtson

DR. ERVING SEVERTSON, over the past four decades my professional career has been defined primarily by my work as a Professor of Psychology at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, as Vice President and Dean for Student Life at the same university and as a Consulting Psychologist and Director of Psychology Services at Good Samaritan Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Puyallup. In addition, I have maintained a private practice in Clinical Psychology with a focus on evaluation and consultation. In the latter context, referrals have been received from many sources including state agencies and attorneys.

My Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. At that time this program was one of twenty-some fully accredited Clinical Psychology programs in the USA. I did a 4,000 hour internship at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City rotating through inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry and neurology. I was licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Washington in 1967 and became a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology, American Board of Professional Psychology, in 1977. I was listed in the initial edition of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology in 1975 and have been listed in all subsequent editions of this Register. In 1993, I became a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology.

My wife and I have been married for fifty-one years and have a daughter who is an attorney in the Chicago area and a son who is a neurotologist in Louisville. Whenever possible, we enjoy time and activities with our children, their spouses and our four grandchildren. In addition, we enjoy travel, sports, the arts and volunteering.
