Summary

Mike will discuss the Marcos-initiated conspiracy that led to the 1981 Domingo and Viernes murders and the role of the Committee for Justice to get the hit men convicted, expose the cover up and eventually hold Marcos liable for the murders in a celebrated trial in 1989. This case represents the first and only time a foreign head of state has been held liable for the murders of US citizens on US soil. Recent disclosures implicate the local office of the FBI in a cover up when it sent its informant to the scene of the murders and eventually testify on behalf of the hitmen. Mike describes this decades long struggle for justice in his just released book, Summary Execution: The Seattle Assassinations of Silme Domingo and Gene Viernes. See www.michaelwithey.com and The Domingo and Viernes Story on facebook.
