Summary

This webinar will provide an overview of handling a wrongful death case. We will discuss the procedural aspects of wrongful death cases and the interplay of wrongful death claims with other types of cases and statutory frameworks, including medical malpractice cases, claims against governmental entities, and federal tort claims. We also will discuss the impact of recent changes to the wrongful death statute, including the effective date, application to pending cases, etc. We also will address the practical aspects of handling a wrongful death case including scope of representation when there are multiple statutory beneficiaries.
