Kelli Carson, Government Affairs Director
Kelli Carson joined WSAJ’s government affairs team in 2020. Prior joining WSAJ’s staff, she was a practicing attorney and proud WSAJ EAGLE member. Her practice areas focused on employment and consumer law, including class actions and complex litigation. During her time as a litigator, she represented individuals who suffered employment discrimination, retaliation and wage theft. She also represented consumers challenging unfair and deceptive business practices under Washington’s Consumer Protection Act and insureds under Washington’s Insurance Fair Conduct Act.
Standing up for the rights of individuals against corporate misconduct inspired Kelli to advocate for all individuals – not just her clients. Working in government affairs allows her to broaden the scope of her advocacy to cover all who reside in or enter Washington state. In this work, she advocates for the rights of workers, consumers, patients and insureds at the state, local and agency levels.
Kelli graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2015 and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Seattle University in 2010. She is a licensed member of the Washington State Bar Association.
Kelli was born and raised in Washington. She lives in Tacoma with her husband Brad, their spirited son Josh, and even more spirited cat Dennis. In her free time, she loves camping, cooking, reading, running, seeing live music and comedy and spending time with her family and friends.
